Labelexpo Americas is now LOUPE Americas, and it’s been two years since the industry gathered at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, for this highly anticipated trade show. L&NW recently caught up with David Ellen, Global Divisional Director of Domino, for a sneak peek of what will take place September 15-17 in booth 6025.

L&NW: What can attendees expect from Domino at LOUPE Americas?
DE: We want attendees to truly “Experience the Domino Difference.” That means much more than looking at equipment. Visitors will see live demonstrations of our digital printing technology, experience our Sunrise DFE, explore our broader product portfolio through interactive kiosks, enjoy coffee throughout each day, beer in the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30 – 5:00pm, and take home printed label samples. Our goal is for converters to leave with a clear understanding of what digital can deliver for their business and how Domino can help them get there.

Domino K600i dual bar digital UV inkjet printer

L&NW: What equipment will be demonstrated in the Domino booth?
DE: We’ll feature the Domino N610i-R digital retrofit module and Domino K600i dual bar digital UV inkjet printer… both integrated on a Mark Andy Performance Series flexo press, with live demonstrations on the hour, every hour. The N610i-R is a game-changer. It allows converters to add digital printing without adding footprint. N610i-R features 600dpi CMYK + White digital inkjet capability mounted onto a converter’s existing flexo press, providing the flexibility to run hybrid, digital-only, or flexo-only production while protecting their existing flexo investment. Essentially it enables converters to expand their capability, without taking up additional floor space.

The K600i is built for high-speed variable data printing at up to 492 fpm. Typical applications include printing sequential numbers, variable images, barcodes, and QR codes. That’s particularly important and timely as the industry prepares for Sunrise 2027, the global initiative for brands to move from linear bar codes to QR codes on their labels and packaging. That will create opportunities for brand owners to incorporate more unique product information, giving converters an important role in helping their customers take advantage of these capabilities.

L&NW: Beyond the equipment, what else should converters make time to see?
DE: We’ll have interactive kiosks showcasing our full product portfolio, including demonstrations of Domino Sunrise DFE. Attendees can see how the digital front-end supports the printing workflow, and also examine finished label samples firsthand. We think that combination…understanding the workflow and seeing the finished print quality…is especially valuable when evaluating digital technology.

Domino N610i-R digital retrofit module

L&NW: What message do you want converters to take away from LOUPE Americas?
DE: Digital printing should be both powerful and accessible. We’re demonstrating technology that can help converters improve flexibility, efficiency, and responsiveness, but we’re also addressing how they acquire it. Our In-House Leasing Program offers predictable monthly costs, bundled options, including service, maintenance, training, printheads, digital solutions programs, and future-proof trade-in guarantee.

Ultimately, we want converters to see that there are multiple paths to bringing Domino digital technology into their operation, and that we’re here to help them find the solution that best fits their business.
